Egg-static about Easter!
We’re huge fans of the Easter holidays here at Mall of the North. After months of being back at school and work there’s finally some time to relax and unwind with friends and family. Of course, all the delicious chocolate eggs and hot cross buns means there’s even more to love about this time of year.
If you’re staying right here in Polokwane for the holidays you might be wondering how to spend your well-deserved time off while keeping the whole family entertained. Luckily we’ve got some handy tips and a jam packed calendar of fantastic events to help you have the best Easter yet!
Aside from the usual selection of fabulous shops, restaurants, and entertainment options at Mall of the North, this month will also see the return of the wildly popular Easter Fun Rides until 15 April. We’re also looking forward to bringing the whole community together as thousands of runners take on the challenge of the Mall of the North Marathon and do their best to beat the clock to qualify for South Africa’s most famous road race – the Comrades Marathon. If running 42 kilometres seems just a little too far, you can try your hand (and legs) at the half marathon, 10km or the fun run instead.
April is an especially wonderful time of year for us because we get to celebrate our birthday with all of you. This year Mall of the North turns 7-years-old and you’re cordially invited to join in the fun on Saturday, 14 April as we celebrate the occasion in style.
And on the days you’re not hanging out with us at Mall of the North, we’ve come up with some crafty ideas to keep the little ones busy:
- Decorate used egg cartons with crayons, paint, stickers and glitter to create a special DIY gift. When you’re done simply fill the box with all the tastiest Easter treats you love most.
- Grab some paper plates, cardboard, paint and cotton wool and mix and match materials to make your very own Easter bunny. The paper plate will form the bunny’s face while spare bits of cardboard can be used for the ears and whiskers.
- What better way to store all those yummy sweets than by making your very own egg basket. Simply cut a two litre soft-drink bottle in half and use string, paint, coloured paper and glue to create a masterpiece.
So go on and spoil yourself and have a very happy Easter!
